The Club Management Committee Members

These are the dedicated people who give up their free time to run Beckenham Swimming Club. Without these individuals the club would cease to exist. The Club Management Committee (CMC) members are responsible for the day to day management of the club and are elected at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). I have been a member of the club since I was 4yrs old and have been a member of nearly every squad from Tadpoles to Masters. My role is to ensure timely decisions are made democratically by the Club Management Committee in the best interests of the club, its coaches and its swimmers, which take into account representative views from across the club. 	The Hon. Championships and Gala Secretary Gillian Gunning 01689 876 983 gillian.gunning@ntlworld.com My name is Gillian Gunning and I have been with the club for nearly 10 years, I have two sons who swim within the club. Shortly, I will be taking over the role as gala secretary. Throughout the year the club participates in many championships/leagues which include National Swimming League, Kent Junior League and White Horse League, Kent County Championship, London Region and Nationals. I along with Catherine Simpson, Isabel Castelo and Helen Schofield do our utmost to ensure a smooth running of these events. I am normally around at the Spa on Monday and Wednesday and various other pools the rest of the week, if I can be of any help in anyway whatsoever please let me know.

	The Hon. Membership Secretary Jackie Elliott 07887 501434 jcelliott@btinternet.com I became Membership secretary in January 2008, after a long association with the club. I have been a member of the club for many years, starting as a Tadpole and working through the age group squads, before taking up Water polo and swimming with the Masters section. I now have three daughters in three different squads so am seeing the club from a parent's point of view. As a family we have 17 sessions a week that we should attend so I am forever at one pool or another! My role as Membership secretary involves organising the annual membership renewals from current members as well as organising Trials for new members who contact me. Members who wish to resign from the club need to let me know in writing, giving one months notice. If anyone reading this website wishes to join our club, please do not hesitate to contact me.
	The Hon. Training Secretary Fiona Pearson 020 8670 4177/ 07885 442258 fionamgorman@aol.com I am Fiona Pearson and I have recently taken over as Training Secretary for the club. In this role, I hope to liaise with the coaches and ensure that they have the support they need to run their squads smoothly. I also try to ensure that swimmers have a pool to swim in so, if there is a problem for any reason, I will try to get in touch to let you know. My three boys are all members of BSC (Gold, Silver and Tadpoles), so I can be found at The Spa and various other pools several times a week. Do not hesitate to come and find me, if you think you need my help!

	Trophy Secretary Liz Haynes Hello, my name is Liz Haynes, I have two children who swim for the club and a year ago I took on the role of Trophy Secretary. Every year we hold our club championships and the winner of each event receives the club trophy for this event which has their name engraved upon it and which they get to keep for a year. There are nearly 200 of these trophies and some of them are very old with names dating back to the early 20th century.They are presented to the swimmers at an annual party and I have to say look amazing when they are all together! In addition I look after the trophy cabinet which houses the trophies the club wins at various annual events and finally I order all the medals for club champs and other events throughout the year.
