 Role Of The Club Treasurer

The Treasurer is responsible for the financial accounting of the club.
- To be responsible for ensuring all accounts and primary records are maintained, specifically all receipts and payments must be properly recorded.

To report regularly to the committee on the financial state of the club and to the members at the AGM.

To Liaise with Membership Secretary to ensure that fee collection is properly recorded.

The Treasurer will be a signatory to the bank account and will ensure regular bank reconciliations are completed.

To be responsible (with the Chair and other committee members) for ensuring the club complies with all relevant legal requirements.

To be responsible for paying coaches and other paid staff and for dealing with all invoices.

To issue receipts and keep records of all monies received.

Monitor the budget throughout the year.

Plan the annual budget in agreement with the management committee.

Prepare end of year accounts and present to the auditor and management committee.

The Good Club Guides have been created to support the ASA’s Club Development programme swim21. They are intended to complement swim21, by providing tools, templates and resources that will assist the running of a club, and ultimately assist in working towards or maintaining swim21 accreditation.
